ACUNS 2025: Global Conference at UoN

The University of Nairobi (UoN) took center stage on the global academic and diplomatic calendar as it hosted the 2025 Annual Conference of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) from June 23rd to 25th at the historic Taifa Hall. The conference revolved around the theme, “Environmental Multilateralism and Human Development,” drawing eminent scholars, policymakers, UN representatives, civil society actors, and diplomats from around the world.

University of Nairobi Holds Stirring Tribute to Literary Icon Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o

The University of Nairobi, in collaboration with East African Educational Publishers (EAEP) and the Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o Foundation, held a powerful and emotionally charged celebration on Friday, June 20, to honor the life, works, and enduring legacy of the late Prof. Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. The event, titled “Celebrating the Life and Works of Prof. Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o,” took place at the historic Taifa Hall and drew hundreds of admirers, scholars, writers, students, and members of the public, both in-person and online.

Celebrating 60 Years of U.S.–Kenya Diaspora Relations

On Wednesday, 28th May 2025, the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies (DDIS) at the University of Nairobi hosted a hybrid panel discussion to celebrate 60 years of U.S.–Kenya Diaspora Relations. The event, themed “Bridging Nations, Enhancing Mutual Growth and Development,” was held on the 4th floor of the UoN Towers and was organized by the Africa Center for the Study of the U.S. (ACSUS).
