The Department of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Nairobi, held the 5th Conference on the Status of African Women during the 5th UoN Research Week. This year's theme: Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work and Entrepreneurship During and After COVID-19.
The Department of History and Archeology has organized three days conference which started on Monday all through up to Wednesday. September was a successful month without any mishaps or significant obstacles. I made
significant gains in learning the Japanese language and can proudly report that I can do basic
shopping and move about campus and outside without having to worry about the language
barrier as I can communicate the basics without needing a translator or interpreter present.
I have bought all the required textbooks for both the Japanese class as well as the literature unit I
took up and it has aided my active class participation. I get along with the lecturers and show
