IAGAS@50: From A Cultural Division to a Research and Teaching Institute .

The Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies (IAGAS) will hold an international webinar on December 4, 2020 to celebrate 50 years since its formation. The Institute formerly known as Institute of African Studies (IAS) was established in August 1970 and charged with the responsibility of promoting and conducting original research in the field of African Studies. Although originally established as a research Institute in the model of other research Institutes in the University, over time, teaching has continued to become a core component of the Institute.

Mnamo tarehe 2, Disemba, 2020, Idara ya Kiswahili iliandaa webina spesheli kusherehekea miaka 50 tangu chuo kikuu cha Nairobi kilipoanzishwa rasmi.  Mada kuu ya webina hio ilikuwa, “Kiswahili Ulimwenguni.”

Webina hio ya kufana, ilihudhuria na watu  wa tajriba mbali  mbali miongoni mwao wanafunzi wa chuo kikuu cha Nairobi, Wahadhiri na wasomi kutoka pande tofauti tofauti ulimwenguni ikiwemo, Poland, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Mariakani na Uchina.
