UoN FASS Scientists Positions In AD Scientific Index 2022 Rankings

Scientists from the University of Nairobi have attained 18 positions in the coveted top 50 rankings nationally in the 2022 rankings by the Alper- Dodger (AD) scientific index. A total of 538,497 scientists globally were ranked in the 2022 AD scientific Index.

The AD Scientific Index 2022 is a rating and analysis system based on individual scientists' scientific performance and added value in terms of scientific productivity. It is also based on the principle of including meritorious scientists. Furthermore, the AD Scientific Index 2022 assigns a score to institutions based on the scientific features of their linked scientists. 

From the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, several professors were recognized based on their extraordinary research.

Prof. Peter N. Keiyoro ranked position 6 in the university, 12 in the country and 536 in the region based on his research in Open and Distance Learning|Global Burden of Diseases|Ecology and Environmental Conservation.

Prof. Mwabu, G ranked position 5 in the university, 13 in the country and 557 in the region based on his research in health economics|Development Economics|Microeconometrics and Poverty Analysis.

Prof. Karuti Kanyinga ranked position 11 in the university, 25 in the country and 891 in the region based on his research in Governance and Political Economy of Development.

Prof. Winnie Mitullah ranked position 35 in the university, 81 in the country and 2376 in the region based on her research in Governance |Institutions and Policy.

Prof. JNK Mugambi ranked position 39 in the university, 89 in the country and 2642 in the region based on his research in Phenomenology in Religion/Philosophy of Religion/Contemporary Religious thought/Applied Ethics.

Prof. J Kabubo Mariara, ranked position 45 in the university, 103 in the country and 2939 in the region based on her research in Economics/ Poverty/ Environment and Development/ Climate Change/ Labor Markets.

Prof. W Onyango Ouma, ranked position 50 in the university, 132 in the country and 3601 in the region based on his research in Medical Anthropology.

Prof. John Oucho ranked position 54 in the university, 140 in the country and 3810 in the region based on his research in Migration and Urbanization|Population and Development|Population and Conflict.

Prof. Oliver V. Wasonga ranked position 57 in the university, 144 in the country and 3880 in the region based on his research in Dryland Ecosystems Analyses|Socio-Economics of Pastoral Livelihoods|Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience.

Prof. Peter Kimuyu ranked position 68 in the university, 167 in the country and 4230 in the region based on his research in Resource and Industrial Economics|Moral issues pertaining to Economics.

Prof. Francis Mwega ranked position 72 in the university, 181 in the country and 4423 in the region based on his research in Macroeconomics.

Prof. Josiah Aduda ranked position 80 in the university, 193 in the country and 4810 in the region based on his research in Finance.
