China International Exchange Program Internship 2025
My name is Gabriel Paul, an alumnus and a recent graduate from the department of physics,
University of Nairobi.
I’m glad to share a memorable international exchange program experience in my life. During the
period from 22 Sept - 25 Oct 2025, I had an incredible opportunity to participate in the China
International Exchange Program Internship 2025 at Zhejiang University of Science &
Technology , Xiaoheshan Campus in Hangzhou. This program brought together international
students and researchers to explore advanced topics in modern physics while fostering cross-
cultural scientific exchange and collaborations in Quantum Physics.
During the internship, our focus was on quantum measurement and quantum transport coupled
with deeply rooted Chinese cultural heritage visits, strategic professional and academic
networking and engaging weekly research seminars and discussions covering key areas like
quantum mechanics, quantum optics, and quantum precision measurement. This noble
experience deepened my understanding on how quantum principles underpin cutting-edge
technologies; from precision sensing to emerging quantum information systems.
I’m sincerely grateful to my undergraduate university mentors - Prof. Elijah Ayieta and Dr
Buers Awuor from the Department of Physics, University of Nairobi for their unwavering support
and reliable networks that inspired me to this remarkable opportunity.
The program not only enhanced my research skills but also broadened my global perspective
on scientific collaborations for solving real-world problems - an experience that continues to
inspire my academic and professional journey in physics. I’m looking forward to continued
partnership and exchange ideas to further deepen our cooperation in these crucial areas.
