The Second African Pragmatics conference was hosted by the University of Nairobi, department of Linguistics. The conference was kick started by several remarks including several from the Associate Vice chancellor, Research and Innovation, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.

Friday, January 14, 2022 will go down in history as the day the University of Nairobi switched on its channels signal; tagged UNC TV and UNC Radio.

“We are here to witness history unfolding today! This is the moment we have all been waiting for - to have our own TV and radio station,” exclaimed the VC, Prof. Stephen Kiama.
