The Interpretation thematic area covers such course units as Theory of Interpretation, Consecutive Interpretation, Simultaneous Interpretation, Terminology Development for Interpretation, Interpreting in Specialized fields, Practical Interpreting, Sight Interpretation, Interpretation and Emerging Global Issues, Research Methods, International Organisations and Interpretation, Voice Training for Interpreters, Social and Psychological Aspects of Language Information Technology for Interpreters, Interpretation and the Media, Public Speaking, Intercultural Communication and Ethics for Interpreters.
Minimum Admission Requirements
- Bachelors Degree (minimum Second Class Upper Division) or equivalent in any academic field of study
- Bachelors Degree (Second Class Lower Division) or equivalent with a minimum 5 years’ working experience
- Must be proficient in at least two relevant languages from among: English, Kiswahili, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
- Qualified applicants must pass an aptitude test before admission.

Qualified Community Interpreter in respective languages
