UoN and AIR sign Collaborative Agreement
The University of Nairobi, through the Department of Economics has signed a collaborative agreement with the American Institute of Research (AIR) . The Agreement was signed on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs office.
This was during the visit by a delegation of the American Institute of Research (AIR) led by the Vice President- for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,- Dr. Karen Francis together with the AIR African representative - Prof Ashu. Handa. The delegation paid a courtesy call to the UoN , DVC- Academic affairs, Prof. J. Ong'engo who assured AIR of full university support towards the implementation of the M.O.U.

The Collaboration is set to have three aspects, referred to as Pipeline Partnership Project (P3) ,,
1) Education- Teaching and training,
Workshops
Seminars
Short Courses
2) Mentorship and Networking
Pairing of Economics PhD Students to AIR and AIR affiliated researcher on grant projects
3) Paid Internships
To be taken by Economics PhD students during their Summer Holidays on AIR grants and projects.
The chairman Department of Economics and Development Studies,Dr. Martine Oleche welcomes the Collaboration and encourages all postgraduate students to take this opportunity to engage and get exposure to the industry at a global platform.
