51 FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES STUDENTS AWARDED DURING THE STUDENTS RECOGNITION CEREMONY 2024.

The University of Nairobi (UoN) held its annual Students Recognition Awards ceremony on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at Taifa Hall. This prestigious event acknowledges and rewards outstanding students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance in many fields such as academics, research, corporate social responsibility, leadership, volunteerism, sports, and extracurricular activities.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the University Senate, administration officials, Deans of Faculties, the Student Council, and other esteemed guests. The Faculty saw 51 students being recognized for their outstanding efforts.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Leonard Kerubo in her opening remarks emphasized the University's unwavering commitment to nurturing and producing exceptional graduates.  "We stand here today not only as a center of excellence and a globally competitive university transforming society but also as an institution dedicated to equipping our students with the unique skillsets they need to make a positive impact on the world,'' she said.

Building upon this theme, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Kiama, took the opportunity to commend the caliber of UoN's student body. "The University of Nairobi has, and continues to produce, some of the finest students in the nation," he remarked with pride.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt prayer by the University Chaplain, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Professor Hutchinson. Professor Hutchinson's words expressed sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the event's resounding success. Following the main ceremony, the awardees then broke away for a one-on-one engagement with the sponsors and donors fostering connections and potential future support as well as issuing of certificates.
